86smopuim
though there are several options, the 3d manager of my nvidia control panel doesn't show an option threaded optimizations. I did turn off multi monitor i tried rebooting. i tried 1280 resoltion, desktop and in game I tried lisence utility, which just runs the config util told ToW to use one cpu game still reporting an abnormal termination and to contact the vendor. I have 3ghz ?dual core/hyperthreaded/other buzzword? cpu geforce 7300 gs PCIex16 XP Home, most patches very latest stable nvidia drivers desperately want to give the uber patch a solid tryout. RobboG
I'm actually running 2 monitors. My gaming monitor is a 22" wide screen, 1680 x 1050 with a 8800GTS with 640MB and the framerate is woeful. Is the problem because I am running 2 monitors? M.R.Maiornikov
had the same problem as you, just uninstalled the game. ToW is just big headache for me, so i won't even touch this game no more.
86smopuim
Looks to me like either The patch deleted most the install or PEBKS I uninstalled ToW a while back then installed the patch over an empty directory. However, I do not recall having uninstalled ToW. Will uninstall ToW, then reinstall old version then Uber patch. If that doest fix it... I dunno. Madmatt
RobboG, I run ToW with a new 8800Gt card and it runs great so I think the problem might be your dual monitor display. Try and disable that as a test and see if your framerates don't jump up as they should. Madmatt
Madmatt
86smopium, Have you tried deleting/renaming the intro video? It could be as simple as that. By the way, your seeing the config panel when you try running the ToW_Helper.exe because you have already successfully licensed the game, so at least we know that is working okay. Madmatt
M.R. so with the exact same hardware, the game USED to work, but now gives you an error after you have installed the Uber Patch? Whats the exact error? What about trying to run the various editors, do they launch? Madmatt
RobboG
Hi Matt, I guess my question is really .. "Will it work with dual monitors?" As you can appreciate, disabling a monitor will probably re-organise the icons on my desktop to the single active display. When the second monitor is re-activated, I will need to manually re-arrange everything. I'll test it but it is only a band-aid solution and not one I'd be willing to go through to play the game. I would think, with all due respect, that since I can play all other games I have, it is a bug and can be corrected. I'll post my findings here. Thanks for the quick support. 86smopuim
uninstalled Uber patch reinstalled orginal game started original game just to be sure installed Uber patch started game works. I suspect I uninstalled the orginal at some time to get some precious disk space back.

M.R.Maiornikov
yes reedi The way i fixed the problem was: 1-installed the game 2-installed uberpatch 3-licienced game. (make sure you licience at the end) But have problems with battle editor. I will just give up on this game, too much problems and no fun.
Madmatt
M.R.Maiornikov , you never said what OS you have, but the Editors won't work under Vista 64. If you have Vista 32 or XP, try and reinstall Microsoft .net Framework 2.0 again and see if that helps. Madmatt

Jmayer
reedi7, It seems that at times while playing an Runtime error pops up. I too have had this and also had some probs with lockups and blue screen while doing multiplayer. I have sent in the log.lst files so hope they will be able to look into it as I am sure they will from past experiances they were very prompt in doing that.Hang in they will reply to your question . Lethaface
Also posted in other thread; I think the runtime #3(trap) error can be corrected simply updating Apple Quicktime. If not look in another post from me about mp problems, there are some other tweaks i tried. In the end i didnt have it once after playing some 10-15 mp games in a row. Madmatt
Reedi7, you asked earlier if it was worth uninstalling and then reinstalling the game and patch, in a word YES, please try that and be sure and also reinstall .Net Framework 2.0 and be sure that its all updated with the latest fixes from Microsoft. Report back what you find. RobboG, dual monitor displays actually do work for some people from what I have seen but you actually never said if once you turned off your dual display if your problems went away or not. We need to establish that first before we dig any deeper into your problem. Madmatt
