SIO
Hi all with CPU problems, if, after all of your efforts with the troubleshooting you still have the low FPS and you believe it can be because of your CPU (expecially AMD), you can identify your CPU here in this post for the devs to check it. Use CPUID utility. You can get CPUID utility here (it's free): http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php Currently it's version is 1.40. After you installed and launched it, go to the "About" tab, hit "Registers Dump (.txt)" button, save it to the text file. If you want to post your result on the forum, please (please!!!) post only a first part of the result file, up to and including the Processor Information. If you think we must see all the file then email it to me. Do not post hundreds of pages on the forum, save the trees Also, please indicate the FPS your are getting. Madmatt
Your CPU is great, its your 3 year old video chipset that is the problem. Its a 9800 which is just barely supported and to add insult to injury, its also the mobility version which is even slower than the full card based 9800. Tofke
i have a mobility radeon 9700 with omega driver and a light overcloocking (460/255), 1 go ddr, amd64 3200+. (laptop fujitsu-siemens) As you see on the right top of this screenshot my fps (atitrays) are not so bad (10 to 18), i think omega drivers are very helpful for my gc, and i setup 3 go of virtual memory in windows setup. it's playable at low-mid settings... Seabeejoe
Thanks Tofke and Madmatt. I have the latest driver from ATI which is newer than the one from Omega (I believe -- 7.4 catalyst). Got 2 Gig ram. 3 gig virtual memory. Madmatt-- Will any of your planned patches help me any? Otherwise this game will not run on my computer very well. I know I will not get 60 fps but somewhere around 20 would be OK. Thanks Joe

When I turned the shadows off ToW ran a lot smoother. In fact I can run the game with the other settings on high as long as the shadows are off. I'm guessing that the shadows are more of a drain on the GPU than the CPU? Is that correct?
