benpark
I'm using a Macbook Pro, running Windows XP with BootCamp. When I start the game using the "autodetect" settings, the screen comes up and looks fine, but it is upside down. Makes for a virtual vomit comet of gameplay. Need a fixemup. Madmatt
I saw that a few times during the beta and had to do with a conflict with my monitors *pivot* software. Once I turned that software off, the problem went away and never came back. Madmatt
benpark
Don't have Pivot installed. Any testers using a Mac/Intel setup? [ April 17, 2007, 10:20 PM: Message edited by: benpark ]
benpark
I've tried other resolutions, no luck. I also can't use the old "Cntl-Alt-arrow" trick, because the keyboard is different.
lewallen
I am having the same issue. Running Windows XP on an Acer Aspire 5670 laptop, Intel Core Duo, ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with Catalyst 7.2 drivers. Very puzzling why this is happening. I have tried setting the desktop rotation in the Catalyst properties to 180 degrees so my desktop is upside down, and then starting the game, but it still runs upside down. I have tried the other resolution as well (1024x768 60hz, in addition to LCD-native 1280x800 60Hz).
Madmatt
Try this, go into the demo folder and delete the "users" folder. Then relaunch the demo and create a new user profile and see if the display is still flipped. Madmatt
lewallen
I deleted the Users folder and started the game, it is still upside down. It did revert back to 1024x768. I created a new profile in the game, exited and restarted, and it's still upside down. Thanks for your quick response.
Anka
Try to install “fresher” drivers for you’re video card and monitor. That can help.
Panzerdude
I've got the same problem with Intel Mac and Radeon Mobility X1600 256MB VRam. I've got the latest drivers installed. Tried the above suggestions and no luck. Is there any other video card having this issue?
Anka
If nothing helps try these. In file ww.ini change state "true" on state "false". It’s in line - "changeScreenRes". The thing is, that game will run in resolution used by your desktop. Hope that'll help.
Artie
panzerdude: I think there is the problem with the display drivers and/or pivot software too, not the video card. I had similar problems - screen was displayed correctly, but mouse cursor movement was inverted. Helped mouseHardwareCursor=0 in the video.ini file to me. The ToW preview versin ran OK on the same graphics card, but different monitor/LCD.
Panzerdude
I did what Anka suggested and it worked. Thank you very much. Game plays in a window, instead of full screen. Hope Battlefront does a patch for full version.
afreu
I've the same problem. My notebook has a ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 256. Anka's hint fixed the flipped screen, but now the game plays in a window!

Perhaps one should adjust the resolution after doing the fix?
MikeyD
Me too (sorta). 20 inch imac, bootcamp partitioned, flipped screen, followed Anka's advice. I've got the screen flipped back, next I try to alter the screen dimensions to full size.
benpark
That worked for me. Thanks a billion. It's running like a cat on fire on my Mac book now.
Panzerdude
Changing the res after the flip fix is fantastic. My MacBook Pro is set to high everything and looks/runs beautifully. Thanks for tips. If your screen is upside down, read above posts for solution.

MikeyD
Is there a solution yet to the fixed un-inverted screen coming up a smaller size in a window? Its playable at the smaller size but I just finished paying for a new 20" monitor! [EDITED] - Oh yes I see. Got back to OPTIONS and choose the correct resolution under VIDEO. Full size now! OE'd Nelson
I'm trying to run the game on a PC, all drivers and DirectX updated, and when launching the game the screen goes blank, then reappears flipped but no game playing. I have tried Anka'a fix, still no luck. Any ideas?
