Sarge
everything is fine on my sys... p3-500, vd4 256 ram running win98 currently DirectX7a... my question is having purchased nascar4 from papyrus, there seems to be an issue that requires (?) installation of DirectX8a. i've heard some reports that 'some' programs are affected with this version. can you tell me if i have anything to worry about with CM? i understand the upgrade is uninstallable so once i'm in.. i'm in! thx Sarge
Ellros
Cm appears to run quite well with DX8. Schrullenhaft may know of some discrepancies with some video cards. And I'm sure he will eb around soon with his infinite Tech wisdom I have a 32mb TNT2 card and I have no problems at all.

Schrullenhaft
DirectX 8.0a should work fine with your Voodoo 4 series card. DirectX rarely has problems with most drivers (but there are exceptions). However some games do have problems with newer versions of DirectX (some Talonsoft games were one notable example I can think of). If there is anything that you play often you may want to check the web support page for it. This is usually only an issue with some older games that were dependent on DirectX 3.0-6.1. CM works fine on DirectX 6.1+ (all the way to the current Beta 8.1).
