Mastiff
The new triple SLi set up I heard that AMD/ATI was coming out with a quad set up Can't wait to see that.
MikoyanPT
For the price of these thingies one could feed a small african country. And most of the games don´t support sli, instead you get bugs.
evo6tme
I dont know about sli but ive been running crossfire for a year now without ant problems
Freeboy
really the new 8800gt is so fast in the 512 version sli is redundant exciept for extream applications..
Earl Grey
And what would it cost, anyway? I know that my single 8800GTX wasn't cheap, not speaking of the other components I needed to get it to run... are we supposed from now on to pay $5000,- and up for a respectable highe-end machine...? Freeboy
well, no actually a good p35 board is under 200, a great multi core two or for under three hundred, and mem is now dirt cheap for ddr2.... shoot I spent more on a cooling system just to fart around and reach uber overclocking than on the these three. BUT due to 8800 gt shortages the prices on that card run 242 to 350 US. No need for a fast card, I run my old x1950 pro at med and high settings, before the new card, and it runs great and they are had for about 100 now
Earl Grey
Right, but I thought of a Triple SLi setup machine (maybe including liquid cooling) with all extras someone needs when he buys a thing like it. And the respective mainboards wont be that cheap, either, I guess. Ah well, I just bought a new PC that should suffice - as soon as I get the additional power plug for my grpahics card Nvidia in their unending wisdom don't put into the package the card comes in! Egon
SLI ?! ... a marketing trick to sell more of those overprized GPUs ? Can´t help it, but to me it doesn´t make sense to have more than one card (cooling-wise etc.) installed with my comp.
Splinty
I'm running a pair of 8800 Pros in SLI and it's freakin amazing! I didn't bother with liquid cooling because it's not neccesary any more, the tech is up to par with air cooling alone.
Egon
OK .. at least we don´t need a PAIR of keyboards, that would be worse
Earl Grey
Well, nothing is a problem wehn you have the money. I'm happy enough to have been able to afford the rig I currently have. And believe me: GeForce8800s are EXPENSIVE over here, no matter the model.
Mastiff
yes running Crossfire mod also ATI X1600's Amazing benchmarks, I saw the Bench marks for that 3 way and wasn't impressed. My bench marks from my Crossfire is almost the same as the 3 way.
