Chilibird
With all of this talk about area of effect artillery, ect, I had an odd idea. We know that we can set a weapon to fire x times in rapid succession. I presume that each shot is calculated individually. So in the case of a circular launcher, you could set the shot origin to the center of the turret, and the spread to a very high amount, and so each of the x shots coming out of the barrel would follow a seperate path. With HE rounds, you would have an effective area barrage piece. Just a thought. I haven't tested it myself.
poesel
... Just a thought. I haven't tested it myself. Well, I have. Try this: Nebelwerfer Its exactly what you propose. Shoots seven medium mortar rounds with a great spread. Notice the smoke effect.
ClaytoniousRex
This base has been Nebelwerfed. Pappa make it stop! IT HURTS, PAPA! Very cool, Poesel!
poesel
Tsstss, that happens when you give the kids too much ammo...
Imperial Grunt
Ummm...so when are we getting our nebelwerfers then?
Chilibird
My guess is that it was more Proof Of Concept. If you think about, that could SERIOUSLY unbalance the game, as that could pretty easilly wipe out an entire base in seconds.
poesel
Yep, just a test. The Nebelwerfer from above can turn its turret 360° and has 300 ammo (medium mortar). MUCH too good. I plan to put the launcher on the armoured truck which will have next to no armour, much less ammo, less than 7 missiles per launch and a turret without horizontal movement (you can make a non swiveling turret but DT still allows some lateral aiming, though). Junglist
Looks totally righteous though! Poesel, if you can get something with the same visual effect into the game, without the same ability to overwhelm, that would be pretty cool.
