scottie
In CMC what is the difference between move and travel ?
securityguard
I imagine "move" is more combat cautious than "travel", and "travel" being everything hitched up on trucks / motorcycles / whatever.
Peterk
Travelling is when you're not expecting the enemy to be near you and you want to move quickly, use vehicles etc. Move is a slower move (imagine the speed of a move command in CMBB scenario) in which the units are expecting to be in combat. If you travel and an unseen enemy is waiting for you, you will probably feel a great deal of pain.
Hunter
Exactly. Travel is in formation / vehicles if you have them, and generally taking advantage of roads and so on. If you unexpectedly get into a battle, the troops start suppressed, and lined up along the road. Move is move to contact (attack might have been the better word in a way). Ike
"Move to contact" is the term of art. "Attack", while it denotes movement, implies a planned assault against an enemy during the movement, presumably at a predicted time.
