ieatnoobsforbreakfast
I read on Wikipedia that AT3 teams are issued a RPG to cover the 500 meter deadzone. Is this modeled in CMSF, and if it is, how many rounds do they get?
Sgt.Rock of Easy Company
It should be in the special weapons tab, where all the AT3 rounds are listed. I don't recall seeing any RPG's though.
thelmia
No. Actually, they'd be better off with JUST an RPG. Saggers rarely kill anything.
Mishga
RPG 18. One shot. Only seen them fired out to about 65m tho.
rudel.dietrich
They should If a few people would please confirm this one way or another I will post it as an issue in the beta forum And really all Syrian ATGM teams should have RPGs
Mishga
And some more ammo to be honest. A few times syrian forces start the game with no bullets and nothing in the BMP or BTR to replenish. Most rifle squads carry a RPG7 but only sagger teams carry one RPG18.
Renaud
I confirm the Syrian ATGM teams do have a single RPG 18.
rudel.dietrich
That sounds right The RPG 18 is a cheap light weight disposable AT weapon with good accuracy and good penetration
ieatnoobsforbreakfast
Thank you.
Battlefront.com
As far as we know when the RPG-18 came out it replaced the RPG-7V in the Sagger teams. The main reason is that it's a lot easier to lug around extra Saggers if you're not also messing about with the more cumbersome RPG-7V and its ammo. Saggers are supposed to be a defensive weapon and therefore (in theory) the team gets into a good firing position with plenty of range prior to the enemy coming into view. The RPG is there just in case reality and theory diverge A good Sagger position should be behind infantry. The infantry all have RPG-7Vs so theoretically the deadzone is already adequately covered. thelmia
Hmm. Where's the RPG 18? Never seen it used by Fighter ATGM teams... While I'm here, what's up with Saggers? They seem to have gotten nerfed from 1.02. They hit the ground a lot more, particularly about 150 meters in front of the launcher. Secondbrooks
Maybe Sagger teams should have RPG's but they should be sepparate teams, not directly attached to Sagger-team. SPG-teams could be another case. But still usually RPGs would be separated from SPGs. They take care of those spots which can't be reached with ATGMs or SPGs... Oh well, what do i know of Syrian ways... Nothing.
