Hello,

its working ONLY when you have companies from same battalion and battalion HQ somewhere.

But its not working, when you use independent companies... Is it in real life also like in the game that they don't share information?

I think this need to be changed.

On Syrian side there are only independent tank companies and they have absolutely no information about what's going on on the battlefield...

This is a very good point. IMHO the whole C2 think was a good idea but poorly implemented. You should be able to attach a unit from one formation to another formation, either in the setup phase or in the scenario editor.

You should also not have to have the battalion commander on the map for a measly company action just to act as a bridge for communication between units. If a higher echelon commander is not on the map the game should assume all C2 methods other than voice/hand signals are green. In other words, if the highest level commander on the map is a company HQ, they should be in radio/PDA contact with the off-map battalion HQ.

Currently things like battalion sniper teams aren't simulated properly, as they could easily be attacked to a company or even a platoon for a particular operation.

As a solid example, say you want the battalion JTAC team on the map but not the battalion HQ because the action is only a small affair involving an understrength company. At the moment, the only way to do it is to put the battalion HQ in a reinforcement group that arrives after the end of the battle (i.e. never). If you do this, however, it takes a lot longer for the JTAC team to call in support because they have a broken C2 connection with the battalion HQ.

Good discussion.

The intention was to have a separate phase where different sub units could be cross assigned (attached) to other formations. This would make new C2 bonds, though they wouldn't be as efficient as the Organic links. Unfortunately, this is one of about 2000 features we've had to push off to another day :( Too many things to do, far too little time to do them in.

As for the Bn HQ being mandatory... this is only true if you have direct attachments of that Bn HQ present. Otherwise you can delete the HQ. This is not ideal, I agree, but it's a current limitation of the code. Again, this is something that we hope to have fixed in the near future.
