Sirocco
The modules are more content, with code changes being made to the base game.
Lurker765
But I thought that when I purchased the game I would have a fun and complete game. I didn't realize I would have to buy the next game as well to get this one to be enjoyable for me to play. I don't mind that I bought a game I probably won't play much since they created so much enjoyment for me with CMx1. But I won't buy the next one via pre-order like I did this one.
Sirocco
I would imagine that code changes to the base game will be made available in patches. You won't need to buy the modules to benefit from the base game updates.
Thomm
Lurker765, I am not exactly sure what you are trying to say, but the way I understand the expansion system, improvements to the core engine (e.g. TacAI) that are coded during the development of the expansion packs are going to be implemented into the base game engine via patches. Otherwise the games would become incompatible multi-player-vise: lets say I want to play "Allah's Fist" against somebody that has the Marine Corps expansion installed while I do not. This should be possible, so my version should behave very much like the Marine Corps one. This is only possible if both versions have the same core engine. At least I hope this is the way it works, because it would ensure that the CMx2 engine continues to mature also for owners of the base game. Best regards, Thomm
Lurker765
If true that would make me happier. I was used to the CMBB not being compatible with CMAK model despite using the same game engine.
