markh
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone is able to tell me what the RHA eqivalent (in mm) is of the frontal armours of the M1A1 and M1A2 respectively - and the reference source if you knows that. I appreciate that both tanks have composite armour so the actual thickness is irrelevant - that is why I am looking for an "RHA equivalent" thickness. My " web research" skills are not that good and I have not been able to find that information on the web. Thanks in advance.

John Kettler
Douglas Rudd, This confirms a threat briefing I got in 1985 indicating the Soviets had already fielded DU. Thank goodness we didn't have to fight them! Regards, John Kettler
markh
Douglas Thanks for your reply - that was exactly what I was looking for. Regards Mark
MikeyD
I think its funny they class the MEXAS-tiled bow of a Bradley as being roughly equivalent to an old Centurion! That's the march of progress for you, nowadays a WWII Panther would be considered lightly armored with a weeny popgun
