Dismount at the end of a waypoint string

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to disembark passengers at the end of a string of waypoints. It seems that the "dismount" command is greyed out, and only becomes available after a vehicle stops.

I have RTFM, especially page 64, but it didnt shed any light on this.

Yes, to elaborate: Give your vehicle a movement order to get into position for the drop, then while its driving give your troops a movement order to go to once the vehicle stops and they will disembark once the vehicle has stopped.

The problem with this (at least in WEGO), is if you have a vehicular movement that takes less than 60 seconds. Lets say you have to move a Stryker 50 meters then want the inf to debark, and assault a house. Assuming the movement takes only 25 seconds, you have to wait 35 seconds to your next orders phase to get the inf to do what you want.

Any way around this?

Plot the movement for the Stryker and the infantry before you hit go. As soon as the vehicle stops at the end the guys will get out and go right to their waypoint.

And, if you time it right, you can order your dismounts to go to the vehicle and embark, while giving the IFV a pause command, then a movement order and the infantry will board, then the vehicle will drive off.

Magic I tell you, Magic! ;)
