Nietzsche
Just like the Theatre of War Contest. Wouldn´t that be great?

Sergei
Would Nietsche be an American or a Syrian name?
Nietzsche
You obviously haven´t read the Theatre of War Contest info, have you? "We will then draw a number of winners from the pool of correct replies (multiple entries increase the chance that someone's name will be drawn), and the winner(s) will have their names added to the unit database of the game before release, meaning that there will be a soldier running around in the game with their name on it, e.g. Sgt. John Doe as part of the US forces." If you would like to immortalize yourself as "Sergei" or "wolf66" it´s your choice. I wouldn´t use "Nietzsche" of course...
Nietzsche
Then again, there could well be an american named Frank Nietzsche. Or an syrian named Al-Karim Nietzsce. Errr... Well, propably not...
Elmar Bijlsma
Considering how Jim Boggs got his name into CMSF, I think we should all do our utmost no more of our names get added.

wolf66
I don't think too "specific" names would be a good thing at all, although sending Pvt Grog Dorosh on an extremly dangerous scouting mission has some appeal .... just kidding - please forgive me

Ah, it's Immortalisation you're after, well there are other ways to do that, how about ways more fitting for a philosopher, why don't you write a good book then

Darkmath
I don't want to see a grog war like Pvt Bryan Dorosh vs. Hpt Hans Kettler or Lt. Jason Von C vs. General Boris Emrys (its age deserve such rank!! ) It would be interresting to see a God vs. Nietzche battle, though.

That one is a keeper, thanks! Meanwhile I´ve posted two more CM comicstrips over on the "Africa Korps" -forum. And they sure did like them there. What nice guys. Made me think I should quit this philosophy nonsense and focus on comics instead...
MikeyD
Didn't BFC say in an earlier bone that they simply couldn't handle grinding out individual unit portraits for every individual soldier you clicked on? That most probably was in regards to soldier icons in the menu bar, but it might've included names too. To fill out a whole battalion, wouldn't BFC need to type the entire contents of a medium-size town's phone directory into the game? My vote for name inclusion is of course Moon Unit Zappa.
