c3k
Gents, Can anyone tell me the difference in game mechanics between the two colors for target lines? Thanks, Ken
JonS
* Blue means good to go, full steam ahead * Red means whoa back, you can't do that Tonto. * Yellow means some of your dudes can see the target and will engage, but at less that 100% effectiveness (ie, the target is partially obscurred to your squad/shooter)
c3k
JonS, Thank you! I'm sure that's written somewhere, but I couldn't find it in the PDF manual. Regards, Ken
aka_tom_w
Its new as of v1.05 (i.e. the yellow line) When placing a Target order, the LOS line turns yellow if it's generally clear, but not perfectly so. This means either *some* soldiers in the spotting unit may not have a clear LOS or *some* of the target zone may not be visible.
c3k
Hmmm, I always wondered what "readme" meant.... Thanks! Ken
Battlefront.com
Slight edit to JohnO's description: * Yellow means some of your dudes can't see the target or some of the target is not visible to all of your dudes. We didn't want to get into a situation where there were too many different colored lines meaning unique things. In the words of one tester, "Please God, no more colored or pulsating lines!". Or somefink like that Think of the yellow line as "suboptimal engagement of the target", for one or the other reason. I think Infantry must be involved as either Target or Shooter for this to kick in, which makes sense since vehicles operate in a more binary way against each other since they basically have only one LOF. We don't have hull MGs in CM:SF, so I would suspect when we go to WW2 the yellow line thing will apply to hull MGs being blocked. dixon_el
Hull down is a little different from multiple infantry. A fourth line would really be nice. Maybe you could add a modification for 'no lines' for people who really don't want to know what's going on when they try to target. Just a suggestion.

thewood
Make sure you set aside a special line for the bren tripod.
