Barleyman
Are we going to get better support for 2 and 4 core processors with CMSF or that's going to wait for WWII game? Dual cores are kind of supported right now but you can have a nice 1fps slideshow in an urban map with the combined CPU load howering at about 50%.. I assume the problem is the new ELOS that's supposed to be very CPU intensive. So any hope of getting more multicore-friendly LOS code in a patch?
skelley
This would be nice considering most if not all computer makers are making multi-core computers.
SlapHappy
It would be great if we could get a thread together about benchmarking with some pre-set criteria. Perhaps the difficult to run "City Ruins" scenario? Have everyone supply their initial startup frame rate for that scenario with their processor, video card, and resolution settings when running the game at max details. it would be nice to know if the game is driven by CPU power or video card and to what extent of each.........
Battlefront.com
To do the support we need to migrate the code to a new compiler. This is not an easy thing to do. We already tried in for v1.05 and it resulted in almost two weeks wasted before we reverted back to the old compiler. Unfortunately, he's not alone with such tales of woe At some point, sooner rather than later, Charles will make another attempt to migrate. Once that happens better support of multi-processors will be a given. Steve
handihoc
That's good news, Steve. Fingers crossed.
