Moon
Wrong forum? Martin
flamingknives
It might be the right forum. Could we have the question in a bit more detail? I would note that CMSF isn't out for another two months or so, according to the sticky thread.
John Kettler
Moon, Right forum, methinks. stokecitydazza knows and plays the other CM games, loves PBEM with a cousin, wonders whether that'll be doable in CMSF. ISTR it's in CMSF. Does seem confused, though, as to the game's actual release status. Regards, John Kettler
Moon
Ah ok, I thought he might be referring to TOW which is out and not CMSF. Yes, PBEM is in. Martin
Mikko H.
CDV marketed CM:BB as Combat Mission 2 and CM:AK as Combat Mission 3 here in the old continent, so he's probably referring to those games.
Flanker15
Well it still has the "we go" style with the various orders you give to your units and then watch them try to do it. It also has the same and an even greater emphasis on realism.

John Kettler
stokecitydazza, From the sum total of everything I've seen to date, unless you simply hate the period and/or the milieu, I believe you'll find CMSF's in another realm of gaming depth and immersion. The play will be richer and deeper, the men will behave more realistically and will be affected as individuals, casualties will need treatment, terrain modeling not only will be astronomically better, but will be deformable to boot. AFVs and vehicles will be vulnerable to all manner of annoying problems, down to the component level, never treated before in the CM series. Gone forever are mere No effect, M-Kill, F-Kill and K-Kill results. Now, you can eat the elephant one bite at a time, via things like shooting off antennas, wrecking vision blocks, sights, TV cameras, franging ammo boxes, blowing off wheels, smashing suspensions, etc. We've never had an explicit capability to conduct irregular warfare before, especially with IEDs and VBIEDs. Is the American body armor worth the weight and endurance hits? See for yourself! The ability to fight Blue on Blue (and maybe Red on Red) opens up all sorts of amazing what if scenario options that we've never had before. Believe it'll be worth all those pennies! JaguarUSF
VBIEDs are so cool to see in action. Ka-BOOM....goodbye Stryker! Solider #1: Hey, should we worry about the car heading towards us? Soldier #2: No, it's only a sedan. What could possib-BOOOOOOM
