How have things changed

Recommended Posts

The game gets better and better every patch they release.

Hubert likes to keep strong ties with the community, implementing a lot of suggestions from players, involving a lot of players in testing the patches pre-release. His skill and dedication further aided by the community support is a guarantee that whoever spends cash on buying SC2 will have a good, enjoyable and (very important) prolonged experience playing this game.

Since the original release?
Similar to SC1, the original SC2 had a few playbalance issues that became apparent as more games were played and alternate strategies were tried. Playtesters can only do so much. Most of these issues and a few bugs were resolved quickly enough with the first couple of patches.

The biggest gripe, and the thing that took a lot longer to resolve, was the weakness of the AI for solitaire play. Maybe not so much weakness, but incompleteness. The later patches have focused on AI script development for the Editor and implementation of better scripting, and Hubert's AI documentation released with v1.06 is a great help. Players should notice Edwin P's hand in some AI improvements with v1.06.

Several modders have also caught on to the new scripting capability. I certainly have. I believe as more players discover the potential of the Editor to either make adjustments to existing campaigns or create whole new games from scratch for themselves, SC2 should prove to be an outstanding toolkit.
