istari
I've been sorely disappointed with the AI's lack of aggressiveness in "Fear in the Fog" and the 1st battle of Team DeSobry, both with the AI as the German attackers. In both cases (v1.03), the AI just tenderly nibbled at my lines or milled about aimlessly, when a hard push would have likely caused me disaster. Not much of a challenge, and I'm looking for a good defensive challenge. Any recommendations for Carentan? I'd like to play as the German defenders, but if the AI is as weak and hesitant, then it won't be much fun. Thanks for the suggestions. howardb
The AI defends better than it attacks (like in all wargames). I played op carentan as germans and it was fun.
Los
OP Carentan was made to be played as theh Germans, though it riuns well as the US too. Los
Juju
Played it as the Germans. It was the greatest OP I've played so far! ------------------ I am not a racialist, but, und this is a big but, we in the National Bocialist Party believe das überleben muss gestammen sein mit der schneaky Armstrong-Jones. Peterk
Played as the germans a while back. The struggle for St Marie Du Mont was quite nasty. It was so gruelling, I haven't been able to psyche myself up for another campaign since though. p.
Peterk
Also, if you find the computer isn't being aggresive enough, give them some more stuff and experience 'til it feels right. I've been playing everything against the computer with +25% forces and +1 skill and it's more of a fight that way. p.
Thomas Norton
This OP I have played a number of times, but only as the German. I have noticed the AI has played the OP differently. Sometimes, it will play passive and on those games, it is not hard to beat. However, it will at times push hard (a full company assult) where you will have only a platoon. When it has done this, it is a very, very, brutal game. He just keeps coming and you are pushed to the limit. The AI tank assult also will vary. So, yes, I really like this one OP. ------------------ "The Legitimate object of war is a more perfect peace."
istari
Thanks all for the replies. Sounds like I just had the bad luck of getting two "Passive" AIs in a row. I'll tackle OP Carentan as the Germans, giving the AI +1 experience and keep my fingers crossed! Chris Johnson
JeffRaider
SPOILER Actually, I had a great time the first battle of Carentan as Germans, but I managed to wipe out five allied platoons the first game and all of their tanks, so the subsequent four or five battles were kind of boring. Los
Umm if you wiped out 5 plts then you wiped out only a tiny fraction of the allied force, the rest are lurking around out there. (play suitable scary music) Los
