1. I'd love to play. I've owned CM since it came out, but I've never really played it competetively. So, I'm not a newbie in the sense that I'm new to CM, but I do suck. Count me in!
2. CM is a niche game. For it to make it into the top 50 is GREAT!!! Hey, this is my first post here in months!
3. Finally I get in on one of these posts! TEEHEE!!! /me guzzles a six pack of Heineken, pulls his shirt over his head and lights a Cuban Cigar. Greetings, Maternal One. [ 05-01-2001: Message edited by: JeffRaider ]
4. I read an apology from Ambrose re: 88/75 mixups. He knows he made a mistake. In the same apology, he acknowledged that he mistakenly wrote "shank" mechanics, instead of "chancre" mechanics. I'm not sure where, but I seem to recall it being in Citizen Soldiers.
5. My member isn't the biggest or smallest, but it's definitely the most interesting.
6. I know this is a bit OT, but this is something you've got to try: http://www.piestactics.com/files/archive/dl_file.asp?id=907
7. Enough of this childish quibbling, I have a MUCH more important question. How is BTS, in all of its enlightened magnificence, going to deal with the highly controversial and incredibly to difficult to model (for us CM Geeks, anyway) PASSIONATE Sniper To Sniper SEX SCENES? We all know that snipers are a randy bunch, just look at the names some of them are given, Bob "the Nailer" Lee Swagger, and Carlos (Don Juanabe) Hathcock (no explanation needed). Also of some importance is the modelling of the hip grind, with variations for Great Russians and Peasants from the Urals. Also, Soviet-issue lipstick needs to be planted on all the female snipers.
8. Sounds awesome! Can you e-mail it to me? jeffraider@yahoo.com
9. this threadis great. tongiht i drank a bottle of glen fiddich before/during/after a lap dance. hah, that's great and stuff. w00t and stuff or whatever.
10. I agree with deanco. I've taken a month or so break from CM and I just played my first QB last night. I'M BACK, BABY!!!! It was awesome!
11. His info comes from his obscene power to make threads REALLY LONG, due to his REALLY LONG username.

13. Wasn't Sobel short? I think Schwimmer is fairly tall. . .
14. Last I heard, he had admitted to being a "game slut" and switching to different games every few months. He's also very busy with Techware (I think that's its name).
15. Not sure about shipping times to Finland, but it took my copy of CM about 3 weeks to reach me in Canada, while all of the US babies cried over having to wait for three or four days. Talk of conspiracies began to pop up.
16. ...quicksand, which ended their firey worries but soon finished them off anyways, much to the horror of...
17. Look everyone! Maximus made an error! "Cannuck" is more correctly spelled "Canuck"! Let us make derogatory remarks and belittle him! Tee hee hee! Ha ha ha! Oh what fun it is to make fun of someone for their spelling! Jeff oh and bts fix it now or somefink cuase eiter four or 4 days from noww this quesstion is asked already or somefink. (Rob/1)/(STRANKSY)
18.
quote:
CM2 will be the next game and will cover the Eastern Front and should be ready in about 18 months.

I've heard this 18 month thing for the last several months. When does clock start?
19. It's my opinion, that, where morals are concerned, it is LESS MORAL to REALISTICALLY simulate the Second World War than it is to HYPOTHETICALLY simulate a similar conflict. [DISCLAIMER] Obviously, if I really thought it was immoral to simulate WW2, I wouldn't be here. I'm just making a point. Actually, I've never considered the morals of wargames, but now that I do, I see nothing wrong with them. [/DISCLAIMER] To me, modelling and enjoying events that ACTUALLY happened (where people died and suffered) is a damn sight worse than enjoying what amounts to be the equivalent of Science Fiction. Q: Did Americans and Germans kill each other and commit horrific atrocities? A: Yes. Q: Did Germans and Russians kill each other and commit horrific atrocities? A: Yes. Q: Did Americans and Russians kill each other and commit horrific atrocities? A: NO. IMHO, it is more moral to simulate hypothetical wars than it is to simulate real ones. [WARNING] Did something in this post piss you off? Before lighting up the flamethrower, please see the above disclaimer. [/WARNING]
20. I wasn't questioning BTS, I was just curious about other uses.
21. That's a good point, too. I do think that it would be abused, and it's not really worth the man-hours to do it.
22. The only interface mod I'd like to see, and this is very specific to MY needs (I think), would be to be able to toggle the "jump to unit" when you scroll through the list with + and -. The reason is that I use + and - during set up, and I normally find a good angle to work from, e.g., facing the front, and my units are normally behind, so whenever I select a new unit, the camera whips back to the map edge, instead of towards the enemy, where I always replace it. WEEEEEEOOOOOOO. Sorry, sir. Run-On Sentence Police. You're under arrest for malicious running-on. Anyway, that's what I would like. I know it won't happen JUST for me, so I'm not really counting on it or somefink. Bah. I'm tired.
23. I've wished for this a few times, but I can't see it working. For example, you could PERFECTLY tailor your force for every map. "Okay, gotta remember to buy an 88 to plant on that hill, and get Hetzer to hold that clearing, and buy some BIG artillery to level that building, and. . ." For me, part of the fun of CM is making whatever force I draw perform in any map. It would suck the fun right out of it for me if I had some weird, gamey, ahistorical force set up, and I couldn't avoid that, I don't think, because once I got a GLIMPSE of the map, I would already be figuring out the PERFECT force. Bah. I'm tired.
