Hans
Is the size of the email game file more a function of the size of the map or of the number of units; ie if I want to get smaller email files should I reduce the size of the map or the # of units? Thanks
ParaBellum
The size of the map has only littly impact on the size of PBEM files. It's the number of units, especially vehicles that will cause large files. You can see this if you play a large PBEM with lots of vehicles. Once the vehicles start moving and engaging each other the file size becomes bigger and bigger.
Mattias
The really deceive factor is the amount of activity in a turn. You could have a big map and lots of units and still not get very big files if the just sit around. Lots of moves and particularly moves that the TacAI have to correct takes cycles, so do all cannon fire. M.
Redwolf
Armor shots are most heavy, artillery on lots of troops, too. Don't know about the effect of map size. Note that PBEM files get bigger if you compress (zip or so) them before sending them.
