cbb
Just downloaded the Badenweiler Marsch posted to the cm mod database by pakfan. Sounds great! No more "Night on Disco Mountain" or whatever that original opening music was called! Thanks!
Rickovich
Oh yea Night on Bald Mountain wonderful piece just badly suited to CMBB.I've been using my own mod of SS Div Hitler Jugend - Die Fahne Hoch.Almost from the day I received the game. It's very well suited as an intro to whack-a-nazi. Gaylord Focker
Is "A 5th of Beetoven" mod for the opening music too much to ask for!??

Terrapin
I actually have moral problems replacing it with nearly any German war song of the time. I mean, there's no way Horst Wessel Lied is going on there for example, it just feels too creepy. I actually can't play as an SS Division in the game due to the same reasons. Sgt. Steiner
I know what you mean, I would have to pass on "Die Fahne Hoch" for theme music as well. On the other hand, using something like "Erika", "Rosemarie" or "Lilli Marleen" I've absolutely no problem with. "Rosemarie" is an especially good one IMO.. Sgt. Steiner
Yeah, I like "Lilli Marleen" a lot too. Those loudly singing soldiers in "Rosemarie" seem a little more appropriate as intro music though..

Interesting trivia: There's also a special U-Boat version of Lili Marleen available. "Wenn die Spanten krachen, und das Licht geht aus und wir sacken tiefer, das macht uns gar nichts aus, und wenn wir denn auf Tiefe gehn, bei tausend Meter bleib´n wir stehn, 'wie bei dir, Lili Marlen'" Translation: When the bulkheads crack, and the lights go out, And we sink deeper, that still does not finish us, And if we then go deep, We will stand in one thousand meters, 'As with you, Lili Marleen.' When is BTS going to make a U-Boat version of CM?
Terrapin
One question: To replace the opening music with another, what file is the original music? (in the folder)?

I'll browse through my archives, maybe I have good quality versions of the songs on my harddisk. I know that I have "ancient" versions with cracking sound. Adds some atmosphere... I like Rosemarie, too. It's the ring tone on my cell phone . I actually think about placing "Ich hatt' einen Kameraden" or some Zarah Leander (that was Hitler's favorite) music on CMMods.com . Sounds strange. You can hear the strong french accent... Hard to understand for me (and I'm german ).
