Do the Ostwind / Wirblewind exploit the flak truck bug?

Recommended Posts

Unless it was agreed not to bring the Whirbelwind/Ostwind into the game, among other agreements, then feel free to bring the Whirb./Ostwind into the fray. It's not you're fault if the guy insists on keeping his men there as you level the building.

It's Panzer IV chassis, but yes, they are armored targets and work normal from a dying standpoint.

They have the Flak gun, which in CMBO has a very high hit probablity and some guys out there hold it for inacceptable, amoung them Fionn with his new rules. But as long as they don't say so and specify a rule set that does, bring them on.

Well, yes, but...

The Ostwind triggers an interesting tactical problem. The turret is vulnerable to fire from Greyhound, Daimler AC and Stuart. However, when Ostwind and one of those duel, the Ostwind has a much better win chance because of its hit probablity and will shred these ACs nicely. The Ostwind can completely dominate an area filled with targets that are thin enough.

Sould you get a luck first shot off a Greyhound, you will surely make the Ostwind owner jump in circles, his Ostwind going down with a HE load of 180 or something.

Of course, a Sherman takes care of the problem in less sportive ways.

Yeah, they are effective tanks when thrown against soft or semi-soft targets, but almost helpless when against any real tank.

I would, in almost every case, rather take a PzIV than Ost- or Wiberlwind.

Nothing gamey there. They are just as effective as they IMO should be. A heavy, rapid fire AA gun platform is not something you'd like to face in a light vehicle.
