Over 1500m and you start to really notice the optics and gun velocity differences. I had one battle between 4 Tiger Ie (late) with 4 Panther VG (late) and two Flak 88s versus about 30 Soviet tanks ranging from T-34/85 through the IS-2 on a very large map. Engagement ranges were anywhere from about 1800m on up with some hits taking place at about 3000m+. Soviets were regular and Germans were Veteran (to take advantage of the optics). I only lost one Panther to a side hull hit at around 1900m froma T-34 as it was hunting forward and didn't spot the bastage. In another smaller battle I played the Soviets versus a small, randomly purchased German AI defender who took two Tigers as his main punch. Both fell to T-34/85s at under 1000m. Nashorn gona lose at any range, allready tested it (short test here) but i will a large one too for you Nashorns armor is just to thin The Jagdtiger is a real killer but i will show you later some stats Ingame i only fought several T-34 /85 M44 with 88er FLAKs and they get pretty fast destroyed ... . And im startted the test to see what the new optics system does, and for sure the penetration system . If a Panther costs 321 points, how much does a platoon of Panthers cost? and will you ever be able to purchase a platoon of vehicles in a small QB (since they are so expensive)? Also how does infantry compare to tanks in price? lots of infantry for one tank? And how expensive are tank hunter teams? (for eg. Dowarisch Posted September 23, 2002 Share Posted September 23, 2002 I just played the Prokhorovka scenario and it proofs that the German heavy tanks have the edge when engaging from range, thanks to their superior optics. I placed the 8 Tiger tanks given in this scenario on high ground, protected their flanks with the Pz III and IV´s and simply watched them tear up the Soviet T-34´s and Su-122´s. I only lost 1 Tiger from a flank shot by a T-34 which broke through the lines and another Tiger got bogged down in soft ground. The losses among my medium tanks however were considerably higher. Actually, when did we ever shoot over 1000m in CMBO? I never did. The panther costs 321 points!!! How in the world does it cost that many points? In CMBO it cost 199 points for a regular crew. Was that a veteran panther at a early date where rarity plays into effect? Stinks that the Panther is so much more expensive. Does anyone know if you can buy single tanks or if they have to come as a platoon? For a small 1000 point QB, you could never even dream of a platoon of Panthers!!!! Or even Mark IV for that matter. Chadthe Panther cost 321 point cause he wasnt regualr, i have the germane version unerfahren unexpercianced ? rekruten rekruts regulär regular erfahren experirienced hartgesotten hardsimmered(translated this one with babelfish ) and for sure ELITE you dont have to buy platoons (züge)from tank to tank the platoon strenght is diffrent, example a platoon of Sturmtigers have 2 tanks a platoon of Tigers 4 tanks. K_Tiger Posted September 23, 2002 Share Posted September 23, 2002 Dont expect to mutch from ISII`s, in one battle today, i killed 3 with Pz.IV`s 2 Frontal turret and one side pennetration.
