  1. All to random, and allways as attacker, cause the AI isnt that good at attack! I like it alot when the computer gives me just infantrie and the enemy is coming up with tanks and bunkers ... very good for training, and it makes fun (at least for me). Also with all random you will play from 1941-1945 as finns as itaielns ... you can play with forces you would never buy, just to give it a trie ... oh i like it Jean-Pierre
  2. There is a very famous picture i saw in at least two books and on some websides (when you interested i will scan it for you) it shows a early Stug III (with the 75 L/24) rammed a T-34. Jean-Pierre
  3. I made some tests, with hiding tanks, hull down + scattered trees, played as hot seat, and i allways spotted the hidden tanks ... . I mean take a look and try to spot a tank yourself, not with the n key or just scalling the units up, its really hard ! I mean they are just to easy to spot. And in reallife the tankcommander could not concetrat his view on one point, they allways had to "scan" minimum 180°, okey they have scopes, but with scopes they have not that big viewfield.   5. hi there, i would like to ask for some features for the future CM Games. Currently im reading the books "Panzer Kampf im Bild" - "Tank fight in pictures" from Will Fey, puplisht by Dörfler Zeitgeschichte and "Tiger Die Geschichte einer legendären Waffe 194-45" -"Tiger the history of a legendary weapon 1942-1945" from Egon Kleine / Volkmar Kühn, puplisht by Motorbuch Verlag (excelent books by the way). In severall fighting reports i read that they were hull down and just waited for the enemy tanks to come in the best range for destroying them.It often happend that the enemy first spotted the Tigers after they shoot a few to several rounds.Was also a nice report that they wait for some T-34 to go down the hill, and than they started shooting at them, they couldnt repeat fire, cause they couldnt turn the gun that high, in this report was also noticed that 2 Su-100 where 800 to 900 meters away for covering the advancing T-34, they didnt spot the 2 Tigers, only than when the Tigers begun to shooting at them (and failed cause the strong frontal armor of the SU-100). Now my question, will this go in to the rewritte, i mean, can we "hide" tanks ? I mean when they stand still (engine off) the enemy has no sound contact and when they just have their gun "over the hill/wall/whatever) they get a extra bonus, for beeing hiden. Or mabe hidden in scarterred trees ? I mean the closer the enemy is the easier is it to spot the tanks. When i think about i see myself that it is not that easy to implent, but i think it would be a really gameplay improvment!   6. I fully agree with you, but i think that it is not possible or atleast really hard to make new vehicles. I mean when im looking how BTF did CMBB you can imagine how it works (or better its just a idea of me ). They included the other vehicles with shared model but correct data, for me that means that you can not, after you "finished the game" / "the core" / "version one", make that easy new stats/data, for new vehicles or anything else, BUT and thats the point, you can includ new grafiks ... . I mean when it would be easy to implent complet new vehicles (new stats/data and new grafiks) i think they wouldnt include the shared model for now as placeholders. They would wait until they finished the 3D models and the data/stats and release them with a patch ... . I think its like this: T-34-armor-data.dat 85mm-penetration.dat ... .dat or maybe all the "data files"of one vehicle as one, and this part is hardcoded and than the T-34/85-Model44.3ds and this, the grafik file, is external ... Hell i hate guesing BTF help us with some informations please Jean-Pierre

Oh okey We all want to see correct models i mean this game is really perfect, and iam just a guy who wants to make the grafiks perfect too A sollution could be to backup the modifieded files, or even a simple switcher, say a batch (.bat) file for example, wich renames the files before starting the game ... . I still hoping to get a official answer from BTF How i said they are just minor ones, they did really fantastic models! 2 examples coming fast in my mind: 1. The 3,7 pak, i started making a new texture for it and it was going pretty good (have alot of reffernce images ), want to make it "perfect accurate " than i just saw how the 3D model is build and i figured out that i cant make the texture fit the model without wrong size and the polygonal shape is wrong. You could also spare some polygons in optimzing the pak ... . 2. Really minor one, the late Brumbaer has no MG showed in 3D. What i wanted to do too is making some high poly replacment models.   8. Uhm i reallyhave the feeling that a.) my engish is that bad that noone understand me or b.)noone understand what i mean. I just want to replace the GRAFIKS of a.) shared models that will be not replaced from BTS and b.) the models with errors. With models i mean the GRAFIKS the thing you see in game the lil tanks, infantrie, the 251/17 wich is actually showed as a 251/1 in game to bring a example. Again i just want to make new historical accurate models wich replace the models in game wich are shared or wich are not correct, i DONT want to change the vehicles stats, the armour or make new vehicles, no f*cking (excuse me) Abrahms, no bunnies with guns, no fantasy orcs ... Im sorry for my "bad behaivor" its not the way i normaly write, but i just get angry when guys telling here that some idiots want to include Abrahms or Orcs ... Jean-Pierre
  9. Thank you for that informition From where you know this? Is this official? Anyway interesting information or the community when they would release the tools ... When i have a export plug in for 3D max, i can only make for example a .mdl file (halflife file format). When i have no import plug in i cant import .mdl files in 3D Max ... . good point, but how i said above it would be difficult to export the models out of CMBB with out a export plug in. There is no extra programming, i mean BTS has allready the tools to replace the shared models with new ones ... . Without this they could never do the patch. thats the point Hmmm how is it than possible that we have SdKfz 251/17s (with the 20mm L/55) displayed in game as the 251/1 and they work? I mean do you really know that the grafiks and the "vehicle stats" are putted together ? I think the models are separted files ... Yes i thinked this TOO, but look at the Dienstgradepatch from schoerner, its changing the exe and i can play PBEM / TCP/IP games with my "diffrent exe". The SS-Loader is not changing the exe but he changes WG to SS in the memory, thats how i understood this, im not surte about this, im just a grafikan not a programer And i think that noone wants some stupid grafikreplacments like "Magic Orcs" (note i say grafik replacements cause i dont want to change the STATS itself, just the grafik ... ).   10. i agree Thats a diffrent story, i dont think that BTS will anyday allow the comunity to make a whole "new game" based on their engine. I mean than you could make a mod covering afrika or spanish civil war etc pp or how you said the vietnam war. And BTS could maybe not sell new Games based on this scenario, even with the Engine rewritte, or atleast maybe not that much, cause many people would use the mod and think "Hey why should i buy the new game when i allready can play this scenario with a mod?" They point im talking about is only the 3D models not less not more! This would defently dont change the game itself just the grafiks. I think that they dont have to release the source code, just the export tools? (for the 3D model format of CMBB when they have their own format) or maybe their modeler? or maybe the information how to creat correct models for CMBB (how to say the engine wich parts have to rotate likle turrets etc pp). I have absolut no information with wich software they created the models, so i can only gues what they could release when they would allow the community to replace models with new ones. Iam talking about replacing shared models with the correct models, not including new vehicles. I mean they are not going to replace all shared models as they said. And also i would like to replace some models with my own cause some models have minor errors. Jean-Piere
  11. And they are ? I mean what is the problem with this ... ? You cant include new vehicles, its just a grafikal thing ... it doesnt affects the game itself, and as we all heared BTS is not going to make for all shared models new ones to replace them.   12. But with the next patch they replace shared models with new ones, so it is maybe not that "hardcode" than we think. Look at schoerners SS-Loader and Dienstgradpatch, no incompatibely with other versions and it works fine. Iam looking forward to see someone "looking deeper" in the patch when it comes, maybe we have a chance. When the fileformat of the models in CMBB are "custom file formats" than i see no real chance for making new models for CMBB without the help of BTF, but if they are 3ds files (and when im looking at the "UVW Maps from the models i think they are) than we might have a chance for making new models and including than in the game with so called "inofficiel patches" like schoerners Dienstgradpatch ... I allready asked BTF if it is possible to release something like a SDK (standard developing kit) for models but got no answer so far, and i have the feeling i will not get any answer in the futher ... .   13. I can just say "Flank them" they have no turret and when you attack them from two side you can hit them in the side´. And Infantry can handel them easily too ... . (Ok not that easy when they have MGs and are covered well by infantrie) Dont forget the T-34 is realy fast, i managed in a medium sized map at 1500 points to attack my enemy from behind with 3 T-34-85 at the 7 round. The original BTF BMPs are 24bit bmps, and for sure i save my files as 24bit bmps too ... and thats what im wondering about, i mean when i import 32bit bmps i can imagin that it a.) dosnet works (but thank your post i now that it works ) or b.) that it scales it down (like you said) but im still wondering that it scales than the 24bit bmps down to 16bit ... (think thats a fact now) Yes thats actualy my problem cause i want to make a greyish texture But i will work on it, maybe sometime i get a nice result .   19. Can anyone please send me the grey pak textures how i said in my posts above i just got the "shield". By the way im reworking the whole texture, so far only the shield texture cause i only have the shield texture *grrrr* *hint:D*. Thats realy funny, for his luck it was metalic so that no one could see when he got horny You mean when you have actually for example two 7,5cm paks you see two diffrent "shield pictures" than i have to say NO ;( theres only one texture for each gun, sure there are winterized textures as well, but you will only see them in snow/winter maps . You could see for sure diffrent "shield pics" of diffrent guns . I will make a set of diffrent textures for some (or maybe each) pak / flak, have some nice reference pictures with qoutes on it, or names, signs . So i will do Waffen SS paks/flaks and Groß Deutschland paks / flaks ... but isnt a picture of Adolf Hitler showing in game not a bit to uhmm narzistic, im not sure, maybe its cause im from germany, that i have not a good feeling by puting a Adolf Hilter picture ingame ...   22. Hehehee good idea, but actually its a picture from a soldiers woman i found in a diary ... online. Also have some pictures (real ones, books) showing german soldiers having pin up girls on, for example the back of the mg shield in a spw 251/1 or pictures of cats, im serious By the way thats what i want to do too .. taking a look at the mg shield and maybe i can modifie it like i saw it in the book, its just looks awesome, a big cat on the rigth side and a nice women on the lfet side !!!
