Looking for a certain russian song

Recommended Posts

Here is another one performed by the Bolshoi Theatre Chorus. Though the sound quality is not as good, the higher ranges, as sung by the women, provide a more lifting feel than the version performed by the Red Army Chorus (link in immeidatley preceding post), and due to the inclusion of the female voices, convey the impression of a nation joined:

Bolshoi Theatre Chorus (RealPlayer)

And in downloadable .wav format

Grisha: "Internacionale" is not russian anthem smile.gif Nor is the above link, of course.

Tom:

Try this

and this

http://sovmusic.narod.ru/mp3/tnoch.mp3

and this

http://www.russaudit.ru/_MP3/den_pobedy.mp3

If it's neither of the three, then you have to give some more meaningful clues. smile.gif

Thanks for correcting me, Skipper! I just checked on this and found out that the song I associate as the national anthem of the Soviet Union(and now Russia this year) is known as the 'Song of Stalin'. It became the national anthem on March 15, 1944, and 'Internationale' was dissolved. So, my two favorites are "Song of Stalin" and "Sacred War".

Frankly, I find 'Victory Day' a little too light-hearted.

My two favorite tracks off my CD of the Red Army Band and Chorus are "Meadowlands" and "Volga Boat Song".

Once, when playing a Red Barricades campaign game with a friend (I was the Russians), I put the Volga Boat Song on at high volume while he was setting up his German forces. I considered it my first foray into psy-ops. ;):D
