Guest Madmatt
In a earlier thread someone asked the grizzled old veteran of design, Wild Bill, about how to's and techiques of testing. I Mentioned that before the advanced stages of senility set in, Mr. Wilder sent me a nice worksheet to aid in testing. Well, as promised, here is the link to this worksheet with full in-depth documentation and and helpful hints included! (5k is all) http://combathq.thegamers.net/misc/testmaterials.zip Enjoy! Schrullenhaft
Madmatt - you may want to modify your URL so that the slashes are forward-leaning. Couldn't get the file until I made that change. Thanks to you and Wild Bill for this.
Wild Bill Wilder
Our pleasure, gentlemen. ...ER, what were we talking about? Where am I? Seriously, (which is rare for me), I hope they prove to be of help. Thanks, Madmatt... ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
PawBroon
Now that great!! Thanks WB... Just as scenarios and Ops keep pilling in my eMail and I was looking at a way to analyze them. Boy, do you always thought of every thing? My first impulse was an Excel sheet but seeing as your idea are more often than not a "de facto" norm, I'll go with the flow. s bakker
Hmm, these test materials were very handy thank you very much. I used the template as a basis for a 'review template' which i will use to, well, review scenario's on my site. I hope Bill doesn't mind that i cloned and genetically engineered his brain child. Grtz S Bakker PS: Bill, i am busy reviewing Midnight Madness at Pruem and i love the 'special names'. ------------------ Visit my CM site! Wild Bill Wilder
Thanks, GRTZ (What does that stand for?). Those little touches when they can be done add a lot to the battle. Feel free to use the material as you think best for your needs. I'm going to visit your web site now. Glad to know its there... ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
Wild Bill Wilder
All right, Stefan. Very nice web site. Your approach is different and very informative. Don't forget to include the Wild Bill's Raiders BOOTS N' TRACKS Site in your observation section, please. I'd love to be there! http://wbr.thegamers.net/boots_tracks/index.asp Good luck with your site! ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com

I see Moon's site is missing to.
quote:
All right, Stefan. Very nice web site. Your approach is different and very informative.

Thank you ! Well with all those 'professional' sites abound (like yours), a 'hobby' site like mine had better offer something else and not more of the same. And since i have your attention. Where do you get all the specific information from needed for a CM-scale scenario ? Unit histories ? Just curious. s bakker
I just read your "i have to share this one' thread and now i know your sources. My creditcard is already loudly protesting. Damn this CM is an expensive hobby. I have been a WWII/tank fan for many years now but i have doubled my little library on the subject since i stumbled on the Battlefront website.
