You can only play together if you both have the same versions. 2) Open that .txt file in a normal text editor and see if it looks normal. Netscape on a mac sends a mail file attachment that is a little tricky for PC users to open. one of you needs to change to another e-mail program just for swapping PBEM files seriously if you both use the same "brand" of e-mail client it will be a snap I suggest you both you a well know microsoft e-mail app for PBEM maybe you BOTH need to adopt Outlook express for PBEM perposes, if you both use Outlook express or you both use the identical e-mail program it should be no problem stay away from netscape navigator 4.7 though ok? -tom w 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've found my own files load on no problem (I use hotmail). Also I forgot to mention in my original message I live in South Korea and have had occasional problems here before opening attachments sent from overseas. Sitzkrieg Posted May 23, 2003 Share Posted May 23, 2003 If you are using Hotmail and are playing internationally, you definately want to use WinZip or WinRAR on the files before sending them (both you and your opponent). aka_tom_w Posted May 24, 2003 Share Posted May 24, 2003 ok Hotmail has been very problematic in the past with attachments. getting your oppenent to use hotmail is not likely to solve the problem because I think it has been established the Hotmails attachment protocols have been quite problematic in the past. Using the above mentioned winzip or some other compression will be necessary think if it as a digital enveloped, signed and sealed. mike_the_wino Posted May 24, 2003 Share Posted May 24, 2003 Couple of things: -Hotmail sucks monkey balls. I know that doesn't help your file issue but I have to put it out there. Zipping files is the only way that I found Hotmail to function. -What operating system are you using? I was having issues with files not loading a few weeks back. I am running XP and using Outlook Express. I found that by opening the file with Notepad and then saving to PBEM folder it worked just fine.
