US 60mm Mortars Ineffective?

I emptied the full HE ammo load of two regular mortar teams at two German 76mm in clear terrain not dug in. At the end of the game not only were were neither knocked out but no crew casualties were caused either. Doesnt seem right... :eek:

i had 3 armored cars shooting a truck from the rear at about 100m at night, and didnt even shake it for an entire turn of mg fire. they were chasing it as well, on train tracks.

Effective? They are my babies. I loooooooooove the 60mm mortars and generally can use them to great effect in the game.

Why fire mortars at mortars in the first place :|(and secutiry guard). It was night, maybe the crew of that truck saw you and drove down the tracks away from you,,, like i would

Which range? Which experience? Mortars get very inaccurate over "long" ranges (500m+).

Mortars work best when there are trees around - air/treebursts increase the effect. Then close does count.
