Redwolf
Tonight at 22:00 EST history channel will have a "deep sea detectives" show that dives down to the DD tanks in the water in front of Normandy. Can somebody cross-post this to warfarehq, please, I can't access it right now.

This was on the Oz History Channel a few weeks back. Definitely worth watching at the least to learn how NOT to deploy them. Mace
Mies
Has anyone read Stuart Hills "By tank into Normandy"? It is quite scary to realize what these guys in their floating tanks were asked to do. One gets the impression that with the exception of the DD's that were brought into shore very closely by there LCT's and the ones that were somewhat shelterred from the biggest waves and currents actually few made it to the invasion beaches. Wasn't there a show on the Discovery channel a while back about divers finding DD's in the Mediteranian as well? That was also a good show to see.
