Denwad
I did a QB with the AI just now, and all my Panzershreck teams were killed by a Churchill I that fired it's coax to the sides and rear where it's turret wasn't facing!!!
Kingfish
Any chance you have a saved game file?
Denwad
oops, I hadn't thought of that
Kingfish
No problem, I'll run a couple of tests to see if I can reproduce it. Question: are you positive that the fire that killed the PS teams came from the Churchill I? I note that you were the German player vs the AI, so there may be the possibility that an unseen enemy unit(s) could have been the culprit.
Denwad
I saw an MG tracer originating from the Churchill
Redwolf
It's a two-gun vehicle. I don't remember the details of CM's handling of these vehicles, there was a thread right after the CMAK release. Basically it is not ensure that the turret is graphically facing where it fires.
Sergei
That was MG fire though, so nothing to do with two guns. Was it to "sides and rear" of the whole tank while turret was facing forward?
junk2drive
could it be a crew member popping out of a hatch with a hand held mg? pics i've see of shermans iirc show a grease gun mg mounted on the bulkhead for defense.
Sergei
Or possibly the AT man's buddy could have shot a burst toward the tank with his SMG to keep the crew buttoned but the tank's armour was JUST in the right angle to deflect the bullets right back at them?
junk2drive
which brings up the off topic, where do ricochets go? i have seen pics of troops beside and behind tanks. my troops sure hit the dirt if they are next to a tank that takes fire. does cm model pieces flying onto the troops? would the deflected bullets in sergei's post change the color of the tracer? do i need more coffee?

Was it to "sides and rear" of the whole tank while turret was facing forward? The Churchill 1 only has one MG which is coaxial, so the turret would have been required to face the target. But in a two-gun tank in CM it would face the same rules as the two-gun treatment.
Kingfish
I've tried several times to reproduce this bug, but to no avail. Has anyone else seen this?
