gautrek
This is turning into a bit of a night mare to sort. Any road up. I am working on all the jeeps in the game. I have taken some parts from Andrew Fox's CMBO mod for use on this. Thanks Andrew. I have added the tools from his mod. And used his rear diferential details on mine. Plus i have tried to clean up the front suspension as well. I have also tried to make the windscreen wipers more life like. Do people want me to do a dusty screen for this or are people happy with a plain screen. Hopefully this should be posted in a day or two. Junk check you email. And i am half way through the half tracks. [ June 03, 2004, 05:36 PM: Message edited by: gautrek ]
jeffsmith
I have spent a half hour trying to find photographic evidence but I have seen WWll Jeeps (particularly the Ford Built ones) with bottle openers provided by Coca-Cola on their left rear quarterpanels BTW as usual your work is incredible I cant wait to install them

MikeT
jeffsmith, you know what I would do about the bottle opener comment?? Contact the forum at http://www.track-link.net/ and ask those moddelers. Those guys have resources others just don't. MikeT
jeffsmith
I actually saw the opener on a show segment about restored WWII jeeps (maybe MotorWeek) it apparently was another way Coke set out to rule the world market
gautrek
Another bump to say. I have posted this mod now. This mod covers ALL the Jeeps in the game(if i have missed any please let me know). As stated above this mod comes with Andrew Fox's tools from his CMBO mod. Also his redrawn rear differential. I have tried to make the front underside details less blocky. I have also added a dusty screen option for those how like this. I HAVEN'T included the gun bmp in my mod.So if you have JUJU's mod pack installed my mod WILL NOT overwrite his.

GreenAsJade
A question: were the HT's in use really painted with such a dark green instead of the default sand colour?

GreenAsJade
I have no clue what the answer is. I like the dark green - it looks good. It just strikes me as odd to paint vehicles grass colour in the desert

MikeT
About OD instead of some desert camo for US Army vehicles, the US Army did not seem to have a desert camo pattern, officially. I found a pic of a Sherman with a cross-hatched mud pattern on it, literally mud on the hull. Otherwise the vehicles were OD, standard US issue. Brits were different. junk2drive
brits always are od on usa maybe helps aerial recognition? btw gautrek, pink is gone my experience driving here in the desert, rear of vehicles get more dust stuck on them because of turbulence vs airflow.
