CMAK - Battle of Monte Cassino

Um, not Franciscans. Benedictines. Monte Cassino was founded by St. Benedict, who lived there and is buried there. It was the first monastery in the western world - St. Benedict created the monastic orders. It is the original, all others are copies.

It was founded in the early 6th century. I was destroyed 3 times before WW II - in the late 6th century by Lombards, in the 9th century by Saracens, and in the 14th century by an earthquake.
