MikeT This was done with the copyright laws in mind? I know nothing about newsgroups. The publisher okayed this?

The publisher okayed this? Not a chance, but there are a lot of digitized Ospreys floating around the seedy digital underworld. I don't know who took it upon themselves to scan them in, but they're out there. Definitely illegal, unless Osprey has been around for hundred years... MikeT
Don't know about that bit. But books are on those newsgroups all the time. The Osprey books have been appearing for some time now. Get them or don't, your decision. But I was looking over the files. Modders should fine some ideas for their work.
Michael Dorosh
Well, I've forwarded the link to this thread to Osprey Publishing, I guess if it is a big deal to them, they will take the appropriate actions with the newsgroup in question. As a published author myself, I always find it disheartening to see people encouraging others to steal the work of respected artists and writers. I know that if we posted here about where to get a "free" version of CMAK the thread would be locked and the information deleted, and rightly so. WindyCity
Its theft anyway you look at it. I would think twice before opening a file from a thief/pirate into my PC Edit: Michael Dorosh

dalbrech
It amazes me how people on the internet seem to have so little respect for other people's property. Well, having stolen Music, Games, and Movies,it was only a matter of time before the pirates got around to books....
dalbrech
BTW if you open a pirated file, and get a nice nasty virus, you deserve what you get....
