coldmeter
Just wondering what happens to a tank when it's commander gets killed by say a sharpshooter or motar? I would assume that it would lose a good deal of it's effectiveness, but has anybody had any first hand expeirence with this happening to them? What happened and couuld you tell if your commander was bumped off by a sharpshooter?
Shifty 101
If the commander is lost then the rest of the crew is forced to remain buttoned and they also have one less person helping with loading/shooting/target fidning. If your tank commander gets killed then they have a dramatically reduced chance of spotting targets and slower reload times for some tanks. Also in other tanks (mostly tankettes) the vehical loses it's ability to fire any weapon because of the 1 man turret! Anything I missed or got wrong, please correct me.
Sabrewolf
Actually the most important thing is that the crew become shocked for quite some time, it could even go on for the entire turn. During this time the tank is a sitting duck and theres nothing you can do about it I would rather button my tank commander and get the sight penalty than losing him to infantry in the midst of tank battle. Also, during tank engagement the first thing that each tank will do is fire its MG which is horribly effective against unbuttoned tank commander.
