First is a Panther on the move:

Second is a German attack wave:

Did you see the photo i posted before,on which a Russian gun knocks out a Stug ? :

stugknockedoutv3.jpg

Well, i found a new photo made on that same spot!!

I read the Germans moved 2 more tanks on that same spot, a few Panzer IV's.

And........the gun knocked them out also :D

Here is the photo:

After the 3 kills, the gun was attacked by another wave of tanks, the crew panicked and lost the nerves to aim careful and the gun was knocked out.

How do you do your photos?

The reason I ask is because some guy on one of the flight sim forums started a method of taking a digital photo of a screenshot. The results are amazing as you can see here. (yes they are all game screenshots)

Do you use the same technique?

See if you like mine in the previous thread.

Looking at those aeroplane shots, I think a blurring would be in order.

edit. well here.

stugcolor.jpg

Recolored and added grain to get an old photo feel...

And a colorized the results to get the yellowish B&W photo look.

Hi Ant

Thanks for the link, its very interesting !

But no, i use another method.

In IL-2,the game is almost foto-realistic so its pretty "easy" to convert them to nice footage shots.

btw in IL-2 you can use the black/white start movies ( you can add a movie you made to this start) to make nice footage pics !

However, in CMBB the images are much more simpler so you need to try many views and distances and tryouts before you find a picture which is usable to convert to a footage pic.

My method:

- I use the normal screenshot (printscreen button) and save the .bmp.

- I open my graphical program (Paint Shop Pro 6.0) and convert the pic to grey scale.

- Then i soften the pic and add noice to it.

- After that i adjust brightness/contrast (add 25 % brightness and lower contrast with about 40 %)

- Then i increase the colors again and add some yellowish color on the picture to try a more oldish effect ( this is the hard part, i am not quit satisfied with the effect )

- I resize the pic and then use a photo edge of a real photo to paste the pic and merge it.

Thats about it.

Yeah, more more more ! smile.gif

Maybe Ant can make a few more footage pics with his digital camera or somebody else ?

btw my vacation is over so i have less time to produce footage pics but i will try to make an AAR report with them in the near future.

Ha! I was just about to post that...if you do the photo's, don't include infantry or tank commanders, throws "realistic looking" out the window...

Sorry, but it's true. It's harder to draw people vs tanks, isn't it? ;)
