markshot
Does anyone know what this scenario name means in German? Thanks.
Sergei
(Ge)fechten means fighting and aufklärung means recon. So it means combat recon. I think.
PoppinHobbit
I'm playing this scenario now. I'll tell you whether it means Combat Recon where Russian wins or Combat Recon where Germans win. Great map... Its a Russian victory. Hurrah! [ May 27, 2003, 07:40 PM: Message edited by: PoppinHobbit ]
Andreas
Recon in force. Fighting reconnaissance. At least that's what I think it means. Thinking postmodernistically, it is therefore also what the scenario name means, regardless of whether that is correct.
flamingknives
Fighting Recon, IIRC. The Germans would use strong recon forces who would essentially clear a path for the rest of the army following on behind. In the event of coming up against a well emplaced and numerous enemy, they would report the position to the main column, who would then be able to launch a major attack. No doubt Andreas (who wrote the scenario) will be along to explain in more detail. Come to think about it, I think the idea is covered in the scenario breifing
