Valadictum
Does anyone remember what happened in 1944. It would be cool of the game had a random "Hitler's been assassinated" effect which improves German unit efficiency by 20% if Hitler dies. Also if the assassination fails, then you lose Rommel and perhaps some others as available HQ's and all units lose 20% efficiency. What would have been the effect on Germany if Hitler had been assassinated?
Camicie Nere
Well, the Wehrmacht leadership would have attempted to immediately conclude an armistice with the Western Allies, for one. That, in fact, was one of the prime motivators for the 7.20.44 Stauffenberg plot - to take Germany out of a war that was already and irretrievably lost. Actually, the whole incident was a fairly interesting "what if," but perhaps not one particularly conducive to being modelled for the game. Delta
Besides, who do you think you are in the game? Thats right, if you pick the Germans you are probably representing Hilter. Either that or CinC of the wehrmact.
dasreich
On the general topic of 1944, in the scenario for full SC that starts there (if theres one) will the Normandy fortifications be there? How about the Gustav Line in Italy? Or the Siegfried Line?

Carl G. E. von Mannerheim
The only problem i can see with the normandy invasion(or any other invasion of a heavily defended area) is that u cant land troops in an occupied hex to assault, u have to use aircraft, and ships to clear the hex b4 you can land troops, to me this makes any invasion impracticle if using great amounts of troops.
