Panzer39
Global of course would solve all the "what should be included in the map" problems
Leopard
I think I need a bigger monitor for that map. Imagine a playing map like that for a board game "Honey, before you go to the store, would you move my U-Boat from grid AABJJNS13210110 to AABJJNS13210113, at periscope depth? It should be just to the left of the sidewalk. And ask Mr. Brooks next door to count how many infantry units he can see from his bedroom window, near the Spanish border with Portugal. I'll call him later for the totals."

Archibald
That map's a Mercator Projection, which grossly distorts the size of the polar regions. Do you know what would be really cool? - hexes overlaid on a three dimensional sphere. Everything would be to scale and it would look smart as hell. Anyone know if it's ever been done in a WW2 grand strategy game before? I think this could really make the game stand out. I'm so convinced of this that I'd even help you play test it Hubert. Archibald
Just to show it can be done, here's how you make a hex grid sphere.

Archibald
Got in - here's a link that'll take you directly to screenshots of the map. It looks gorgeous, although it would look EVEN BETTER overlaid on a 3D sphere!
