Nero's Cat
Apologies if this is totally obvious or is covered elsewhere (although I've checked the Strategy Guide and it's not in there but what exactly is the "Cookie Cutter"? I've seen reference to it in a number of posts recently but have no idea what it is or what its significance is! Thanks again and apologies if this is a dumb question
Bill101
Don't worry, it's not a dumb question! Cookie cutting refers to when the Axis easily conquer most of Europe while the UK is unable to do much to stop them. Later on the UK will have help from the USSR and USA, but by then it might be too late to stop the Axis having all of central and western Europe. Essentially, cookie cutting happens between the fall of France and the invasion of Russia.
Oak
Most players use the same basic strategy and follow the same basic steps when playing Axis ... hence the reference to the "cookie cutter" strategy when playing Axis. With a cookie cutter, all the cookies have the same shape; with the 'cookie cutter Axis strategy' the order that countries are conquered and the basic approach taken is the same. Kuniworth
Typical cookie cutter; Poland, LC, Denmark, France, Norway, Egypt, Sweden, Vichy, Spain, Yugoslavia(depends on when joining war), and finally Portugal, Greece, Iraq same turn as Barbarossa commences.
