imported_Kampfgruppe_Commander
I never thought about it til I got to work. I was going to suggest BTS hold off on CM2 until this day next year, but I see some wiseacre beat me to it!

The Commissar
This forum is mostly filled with Westerners, so of course, this isnt something they would commonly remember. Then again, I dont remember either and Im from the very nation that was attacked. Back to the history books with me, I suppose...
PiggDogg
Each and every year, I remember both June 22, June 6, and December 7. I expect that we all know the significance of these dates. Stormhouse
I for one have great interest in the eastern front. Really looking forward to CM2, totaly different tactics, the eastern front was a real war or scorched earth policy. And a fight of two mad man. Yes Stalin was just as crazy as hitler. Anyone else notice that infatry looks just as bad in CM2 as in CM1. That's one thing that keeps reminding me that CM1 is only a game.

Ex Bellator
I thought Barbarossa was a great film, I just loved those kinky boots which Ms Fonda strutted around in. Thanks for the reminder, I'll go and rent it today.

gatpr
There is a neat story about Soviet Archaeologists working on a tomb in Samarkand in June 1941. The tomb had an inscription that warned anyone opening the tomb that a terrible disaster would overtake the country of the tomb robbers (er archaeologists). the tomb was Timur-i-leng's (Tamerlane, aka the Iron Limper, aka the Scourge of God). Neat Story Huh?
