hyperstork
Is there any way to edit troops or such in Combat Mission to simulate a lower tech level, like say 1600-1800s? I'd love to have the troops fight it out hand to hand, and/or have poorer "guns" that were more like muskets or bows. I haven't seen any mods that do this yet, and was wondering if anyone had a link or suggestion to simulate this. The great map editor in CM would be perfect for my purposes, I just need to downgrade the tech level... Any help appreciated...
Mattias
Sorry Stork, all such data is “hardcoded” and not available for editing. It seem every one has their “favourite” period, your not the first one to ask about CM’s suitability in this respect M.
Olle Petersson
You can always use the editor to remove their ammo. They'd still have plenty of hand grenades and "a little" small arms ammo though. Cheers Olle

MikeT
Napoleonic is not fun way too many fancy weapons. Try instead stone clubs and sharp sticks. There was a mini-game in the late 70s about caveman warfare, forgot the name. But it was a hoot, esp since it only cost $3. MikeT
rleete
It was called "Sticks and Stones". A pocket game, #11. It is a hoot. I have about a dozen of those. Ogre was my first wargame, and I just rediscovered all the pocket games. Short, fast and easy.
MikeT
Oh, the good old days. I wish I had kept my pocket games. Melee, Wizard, etc, they had their own charms and could be taught to a newbie in 5 minutes. To bad noone isn't redoing them. MikeT
