Combat Mission Convention

Recommended Posts

This was mentioned before (Colin?) and I was wondering if there would be any interest in attending such an event. As I am just a lowly dirt farmer, I have absolutely no experience in setting up such a thing, but would be more than willing to help.

There would be be a host of details (and major items) to look into, such as location, time, events, choice of booze, how to sneak Madmatt into Canada if we held it here, etc etc.

I realize the travel costs alone could would probably limit the attendence level, and might exclude a lot of enthusiastic CMers. If anyone knows people with, ahem, "connections" in the airlines, it might help.

I'll just throw this out here, and see what ideas we can all come up with.

I was making an impassioned plea for Las Vegas as the convention site at the very moment of the Great Board Crash.

Reason being:

-lowest cost for everything, especially airfare (from anywhere)

-best A/V facilities and convention facilities in the world

-most amusements

If you haven't been there in the last 10 years, or your impressions were formed by old movies, you're in for a treat.

A historical location would be great but it would cut attendance WAY down. Plus, the locals might misinterpret the motives of a group dedicated to recreational war.

I bet you I could make it where ever whenever. Vegas would be perfect for US people because the casinos throw so much money at the airlines and make hotels so cheap that it is pretty affordable. I just booked myself for a conference for work that was $457US for airfare and 3 nights at the MGM (only ten times the cost of the game!!!!!!).

I don't know why I have been on such a kick to meet the hammerheads on this board but I am.

And Fionn....we can play our CMMC turns from the casinos.
