John Kettler
TikTok is providing valuable OSINT, largely incidental to totally innocuous recording of TikToks, but there is targeted recording going on, and there are real concerns about using TikTok in support of active measures ranging from overloading information channels clear up to wholesale fabrications. Speaking personally, would say that Russia shouldn't be considered the only party to be concerned over when it comes to active measures via TikTok.https://www.wired.co.uk/article/russia-ukraine-military-photos-video?utm_source=pocket-newtab-global-en-GB Regards, John Kettler

Vergeltungswaffe
TikTok isn't relevant to anything,...that's actually relevant.
John Kettler
domfluff et al., Embarrassing oops on my end! Posted to wrong Forum. Sorry! This was intended for CMBS, not here. Mods, please remove. Thanks. Am creating a new OP on CMBS. Vergeltungswaffe, TikTok creates OSINT, as the article shows, in to main ways, if we take active measures out of the equation. The first is that a TikTok is being shot for the usual purposes and catches something in the TikTok of intelligence interest. The second is that TikTok is deliberately used for intelligence collection and near real time reporting. Having never done a TikTok nor read or watched how to do one, don't know how fast one can be done and uploaded, which is why I said "near real time reporting." Vergeltungswaffe
What TikTok does, mostly, is allow the Chinese to have access to everything on the cell phones of an enormous number of teenagers.
