hypeman
I was today years old when I learned this. When playing CMBS earlier today I noticed that when one of my Russian engineer squads got within grenade throwing distance of Ukrainian infantry in a treeline, the engineers started throwing their BREACHING CHARGES as grenades. It was awesome! Has everyone known about this?? Now I'm curious to see how effective this is against vehicles
mjkerner
Yes, engineers will throw satchel/demo charges at vehicles, and works well if they can survive getting close enough to throw!

mjkerner
I should have mentioned that just the night before Hypeman posted the question, in one of the Operation Clipper campaign scenarios, I had a Panther trapped along a stream bank, behind a group of buildings, smothered in smoke by other troops, with an engineer squad creeping up from behind. I simply ordered a normal Target command. Three demo charges thrown--- Panther died.
mjkerner
Sorry, couldn't edit it (first time trying out the built-in GeForce photo/video capture on my comp). This shows the first charge thrown. 1073810257_CombatMissionBattleForNormandy2021_03.17-11_42_23_02.mp4
rocketman
What is that weird black area - caused by the Geforce capture? I have just started to try it for screenshots/video instead of FRAPS. Are the video files huge like the ones from FRAPS?
mjkerner
That's a creek/river running through Geilenkirchen. File is 96.1 megabytes. Never bothered to check size with FRAPS, so don't know if this is any better. Edited March 17, 2021 by mjkerner
rocketman
Seems like less than in FRAPS that gets over 100 MB in just a few seconds. Guess it depends on the screen resolution captured though as well.
