MikeyD Posted November 13, 2017 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Those aren't missing textures, they're metal cladding peculiar to the Ardennes region (mostly). My guess is they're zinc (this is pre-aluminum siding), they're hung on a wooden framework that stands off from the stonework. I assume they're insulation from the sun heating up the stones in the summer. they appear to only be on one side of the building. See attached.
