Guest Madmatt
Sniperscope, go to CMHQ and then the Special Events section. I did an entire FEATURE on Airstrikes. All your questions can be answered there. Madmatt ------------------ If it's in Combat Mission, it's on Combat Mission HQ! And if it's NOT on CMHQ then its just GOT to be on CMHQ-ANNEX... Lee
I see you like Starfleet Command, great game, huh? Best tactical starship combat computer sim I have ever seen.
sniperscope
Lee, how did you know I had been a beta tester for SFC? sniperscope
Fionn
Blacksabot = bastard I bet you also show crash victims home movies of "Most spectacular high speed crashes ever" eh? Sniperscope... Airstrikes work as follows: German commander ALMOST gets into the town and is looking at a situation where he has eliminated all resistance at little cost... Meanwhile the horribly disfigured American commander (whom we shall refer to as Martin from now on) cackles in glee as he hears the sound of Merlin engines overhead. The brave (and quite handsome) German commander looks upwards in his Panther just in time to see a black shape blotting out the sun. 2 tanks, 4 HTs and half a platoon later the American plane leaves the scene of its ritual rape of the German armoured units. And that's how airstrikes work .
Black Sabot
Sorry Fionn, That one i couldn't resist BTW...Bil, how do ambushes work? ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
Guest Big Time Software
LOL Fionn! Fionn insisted that we add the handsome-o-meter control to the scenario editor. Really, it was not my idea. Charles
Guest Madmatt
Yeah, how come Fionn (Who's Ass I kicked in a PBEM by the Way! http://cmhq.tzo.com/misc/IKICKEDFIONNSASS.JPG ) gets his Handsome-o-Meter but you nixed my idea for the Bite Me Mine??? Madmatt ------------------ If it's in Combat Mission, it's on Combat Mission HQ! And if it's NOT on CMHQ then its just GOT to be on CMHQ-ANNEX... Lee
Hehe, poor Fionn. He did get a rough deal on that one. Of course, said grotesque U.S. CO did have a rather unlikely weak spot kill on his Jumbo within seconds of engagement, if I recall. sniperscope: I didn't know you were a Beta tester (so was I, check the credits in the back of the manual or the on-screen credits ). But I knew you were a fan because you said so in your profile here on the board. I knew what SFC meant in a second.
Joe Shaw
"Ritual Rape"??? Cool, this game DOES have everything. Joe ------------------ "Son," says I to him, "you're a Dragon. Mikeydz
Another former SFC tester checking in... Man... what's it with SFC testers and CM??? Of course, if it wasn't for another SFC guy, I wouldn't have found this site.
Lee
Yeah, it seems the SFC testers have an unusually heavy presence on this board. Guess we know a great tactical simulation when we see one.
Moon
Let me start off by saying that I have never ever in my life "cackled in glee"... gosh, I don't even know what that means Second of all, who is going to be the more "Horribly disfigured" one - the American commander or the German Panther guy after the 500 pound bomb fell on his head? 'Nuff said... you don't like my Jabos? You're a wussy...
Fionn
Matt, I get the handsome-o-meter cause Charles can't resist my game requests when I flash my "Panzermeyer" smile his way (umm, that came out sounding a little wrong ). Martin, You ask who is the more disfigured after that picture Steve sent of you? That's it, that picture is gonna be posted to CMHQ alng with a little explanation of why your face was covered up. Moon
Whoever posts that picture on CMHQ does so without my permission and will have to face me in a deadly PBEM - a platoon of your Panthers against one US rifle platoon and 425 Jabos Martin [This message has been edited by Moon (edited 05-17-2000).]
Fionn
LOL. With US pilots those jabos'd be more of a danger to the US infantry than the Panthers. Tzeench, If you know any young children then keep them away from the computer tomorrow. Some sights (like Martin's picture) are too horrible for them to see.
