CanuckGamer
Just getting ready to purchase the CMFI Bundle for $65. However at the Store it also says this:This bundle includes both "Combat Mission Fortress Italy" and the first module, "Gustav Line", in one attractive money-saving package! This bundle uses the v2.0 Engine until we have a chance to update it. Until that time we have discounted this bundle an additional $10 so that you can upgrade to v3.0 without further costs. I see that I can also add the 3.0 upgrade for an additional $10 so I don't understand the reference to "without further costs." I assume that when I order the 3.0 upgrade I will in fact have to pay another $10 so my total purchase price for the CMFI bundle and 3.0 upgrade will be $75.
grunt_GI
I think the original CMFI bundle cost was like $85-95, so BFC discounted it so you can get the bundle and the V.30 for less than the original bundle price.
CanuckGamer
Okay thanks. So my total cash outlay will be $75 USD. The "without further costs" is somewhat misleading. However time to try out CMFI.
sttp
Not sure about the language on the purchase page being "misleading"? I guess you could argue it could be a tiny bit more precise, but... seems clear enough? I suppose they could've explicitly stated "To get the 3.0 upgrade, you must purchase it separately for $10, but we've taken that $10 off the bundle price so that you're not paying more overall." Could be said a thousand different ways....I don't think you'll be disappointed by CMFI. It has a totally different 'feel' and flavor to it. It's my favorite of the three games, personally. The Niscemi Highway mission is a real standout, IMO, and Catch a Tiger is also on my Top 10 list. Keep of Majella was also very intense -- use your explosives wisely! -- and is also probably a pretty good prelude to the upcoming Bulge game. (Snowy environment, and there's a well-defended bridge you've got to get across....) Gosh, all this talk is making me wish I could have another "first time" with them. Have fun with the new game.
Bud Backer
I was reluctant to get CMFI. I always found the Normandy campaign more interesting but was persuaded to buy the game anyway. It didn't take long for me to change my mind about it. It's my favourite at this point. That it covers half of 1943 is a big feature that I really appreciate, the very different terrain from CMBN is a welcome increase in map variety, that it has winter is really cool too. I believe it's also the next game due for a module so you're going to be getting more content coming while the game is still fresh in your mind.
