poesel
Ok, thanks again guys. There goes another theory of mine. I would have guessed that RT and edging go together but it seems not to be so. I thought maybe twitchy mouse pushers are more prone to use it. Probably this feature (and the behaviour to use it) got carried over from CMx1.
General Jack Ripper
It could be the twitchy realtimers don't have the patience to come to the forum and make posts.
womble
The mouse click and drag can be faster and is more precise than mapedge. There's no ergonomic reason for it to be retained except to accommodate those who are used to the screen-edge-push. If screen-edge-push went away completely, you'd all wonder how you ever got by with it once you'd adapted to the latest methodology. But there's no reason either for change to be forced: it could be optional. I only ever use it by accident; it's so bloomin' clumsy it's one of the things (along with "relative keymapping", since made a deprecated feature, praise be to the Gods of Interface Design) that dissuaded me from buying CMSF.
