permanent666
So are flamethrowers doomed to walk forever after 3.11 or was it changed?
YankeeDog
Yes, flamethrowers teams can QUICK now in 3.11. I think they can FAST as well. (Not 100% sure on this; I'd have to double-check and I'm not on a CM-capable computer at the moment). Don't count them moving at FAST or even QUICK for very long without tiring, though. With regard to flamethrowers specifically, there was actually a coding error in 3.10 that caused the game to consider the ammunition (i.e., fuel) for the flamethrower to be heavier than it should be, which is why were flamethrowers were being restricted to MOVE in 3.10. In general, the encumbrance restrictions were also loosened a bit in 3.11, so you'll find some other teams that could only MOVE with their standard ammo load in 3.10, such as 81mm mortar ammo bearer teams, can now QUICK for at least a short distance. However, the new encumbrance modeling is here to stay; if you load down a team heavily enough, they WILL lose the ability to FAST, or even QUICK, if they're carrying enough stuff.
