MisterMark
I'm still running v2.12 and seem to be ok with it's features but I would like to see what v3.0 has to offer. Does anyone know if it's possible to have and run both versions on your hard drive? If so how? Thanks, Mark
JoMac
Yes, just rename the 2nd Install v3.0 and it will have it's own Folder, and you will be able to run both games...Make sure to rename the shortcut Icon to v3.0 as well. Joe
PhilM
You can certainly have two installs ... just to elaborate on the first reply though: Before you upgrade, make a full copy of v 2.12, in a different location to the default install. Continue to use the COPY as v 2.12; let the upgrade install work on the default location, original install of v 2.12, and turn that into "v3.0" (actually, v 2.2 ... don't ask!). Remember to take any mod files out of the original install, that is going to be upgraded, before you upgrade; re-apply afterwards. Also delete any old version saved games from the copy to be upgraded, as you'll need to play them out in the "old" copy. That works for me.
womble
Also delete any old version saved games from the copy to be upgraded, as you'll need to play them out in the "old" copy. Provided all participants are upgrading to engine v3 (BN v2.20) and the saves are of order phases (rather than replay phases), you should, apparently, be able to load old games into the new engine. If you've got v2.12 PBEM turns pending, you should be able to load them into v2.12, save them and them copy them into the v2.20 install so you can continue in v2.20, if, as I mentioned, your opponent is also upgrading.
